Position Description: The Database System Specialist develops procedures for the solution of a variety of well-defined business problems and requirements with various levels of complexities and difficulties. The Database System Specialist plans the computations and processes necessary for IT (applications) solutions. The Database System Specialist converts these procedures into database applications and programs required for IT solutions. The Database System Specialist is expected to analyze processes and develop program procedures to construct complex systems with high level of reliability and execution speed.

Required Technical Expertise:

• Proven Experience in management of web based (3-tier) and client-server architecture applications.
• Proven experience in administering databases and applications within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment.
• Proven experience in developing applications in MS SQL environment using the following tools:
  • MS Visual basic. .net Framework 2.0, VB Scripts, Visual Studio .net, ASP .net.
  • HTML programming and Java Scripts.
  • Visual InterDev, MS Sharepoint, Content management, MS frontpage and Crystal report.
  • Good Knowledge of Windows Server (2003/2008) platform and Working experience with MS Access.
• Proven Experience in databases design & development process including:
  • Determine the data to be stored in the database.
  • Determine the relationships between the different data elements.
  • Establish a logical structure upon the data on the basis of these relationships.
  • Create Physical database design.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum experience of 10 years in areas related to database enterprise level design, administration and programming with minimum of 5 years proven experience in database development and programming.
• BS or BA degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent degree.
• Exposure to system internals, the knowledge of low level database programming languages.
• Knowledge of various database environments and networking systems.
• Knowledge of relational database technology, transaction processing procedures, and advanced modeling and design tools.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with existing operating system and database environments
• Ability to do programming debugging, data analysis and system analysis
